Bob Burt's dream
Burt Trophy and Awards, Inc. got its start when Bob Burt and his family began travelling with their horses to participate in horse shows. Dismayed by the quality of the awards they received, Bob saw there was a need for something better. Bob's vision was to create high-quality, custom awards at a fair price. In 1962 his dream became reality, when he started assembling trophies in his garage. Before long, his drive and determination began making an impact in the awards industry, as Bob began producing awards for all types of events and selling his custom products nationwide. He continued to expand his business through the use of new technology, the best available equipment, and the introduction of new product lines.

After 30 years, Bob turned the company over to his nephew, Larry Burt. Larry and his wife Judy spent the next decade expanding the company with outside sales reps and growing their customer base to include fair associations, schools, businesses, clubs, and organizations. As always, their focus remained on the customer, offering high-quality products at a reasonable price. Larry and Judy worked tirelessly on the company's mail order catalogs, a concept Bob started in the early years, when few award companies offered catalogs.

Burt Trophy and Awards today
In 2002, Burt Trophy and Awards was purchased by John Giese, the first person outside of the Burt family to own and operate the business. Under John's direction, Burt Trophy and Awards, Inc. has remained a close-knit, family run business. Many of Burt Trophy and Award's current employees have been around since Bob ran the company. Bill, who works in the trophy and engraving department, is related to the Burt family, and has been with the company for 24 years. Jenny and Kathy, who work in the ribbon department, have been with Burt Trophy and Awards for 22 and 15 years, respectively. Judy Burt stayed with company after she and Larry sold the business and continues to share her expertise in all departments. Jill (John's sister) works in sales and graphic design and has been with Burt Trophy and Awards since 2002.

The future of Burt Trophy and Awards is to continue providing our customers with quality, affordable awards that will provide memories that last a lifetime.
